Established in 1982, the Košava Trattoria retains the “friendly traditional" feel of the original Italian trattoria in the very heart of Belgrade.

With our menu of more than 100 mostly Italian and Serbian continental recipes, granny’s linen, and friendly waiters, Košava is a combination of mama’s kitchen and world class dining.

It has become a favorite “all occasion" destination in Belgrade and is described in the book A Guide to the Serbian Mentality book by the renown Serbian author Momo Kapor, as the place where one can eat ‘the best carpaccio in town, of the same delectable quality that is served at Harry’s bar in Venice, where the famous Cipriani first introduced it as a specialty”. Košava is included in the ever-so-popular Lonely Planet Eastern Europe guide for it's “best ossobuco ever”.

Košava, named after the bone-chilling northerly wind that sweeps over Belgrade in winter, has over the years attracted a plethora of diners including distinguished diplomats, international artists, writers and poets and also ordinary hungry travelers with the guide book in their hand.

Košava serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all year round Monday through Sunday – Monday to Friday from 9am-1am and Saturday and Sunday from noon-1am. Reservations are recommended at least 24 hours in advance, and are booked on the 1/2 hour. Reservations may be made by telephone or reservation requests may be emailed to kosavatrattoria@yahoo.com. For reservations, call (011) 262.7344.
